Wayne Gretzky was born January 26, 1961 in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, his known as a famous hockey player in NHL and also has the nickname of " The Great One ". Wayne Gretzky's father, Canada's most famous hockey dad, took action and built a ice rink in their very own backyard and began teaching him how to skate as well play the game of hockey. It wasn't much longer after that before novice league coaches found out that Gretzky was a good one to pick. Soon enough Gretzky was playing in leagues with kids 3-4 years older than he was. In 1975, Gretzky went to Toronto to play for the Young Nats where he won the league's rookie of the year, later on his career the owner of Edmonton Oilers purchased him and signed Wayne to a 21 year contract. Gretzky and his team managed to win four Stanley Cups in 84', '86, '87, and '88.
